Has Bas Luhrmann's 'Elvis' won an award?
The Best Actor contest between Austin Butler, who played the titular character in 'Elvis', and Brendan Fraser in 'The Whale', was very close. Many believed Butler would beat Fraser at the Academy Awards. In the end, Fraser took home the trophy. Very few anticipated Luhrmann's biographical movie to perform so poorly overall. It lost in all eight of the categories it was nominated for, including Best Hair and Makeup Styling, where it was the favorite, per the New York Post.
