'Bad Prosecutor': EXO D.O. returns to acting after 4 years as chaotic lawyer, fans flex 'range'

EXO’s D.O. aka Doh Kyungsoo is one of the many established idol actors in the industry. Apart from being a talented vocalist and dancer of K-pop group EXO which dominated the 2010s, he is also an actor. He started off with a small role in the 2014 K-drama ‘It’s Okay That’s Love’ before bagging his first film in the same year – ‘Cart’. D.O. stood out from other idol actors by not taking up pretty-looking roles and challenging himself - from playing comic characters to a cold and mysterious Joseon prince while learning tap dancing for the hit film ‘Swing Kids’. And now, he’s ready to show off his range as a chaotic lawyer in ‘Bad Prosecutor’.

While EXO-Ls are used to crying their eyes out with D.O.’s melancholic projects, ‘Bad Prosecutor’ is the perfect comeback as we get to see a new side to the idol actor. Fans may have expected a courtroom drama but ‘Bad Prosecutor’ is far from it. As D.O.’s first acting project in 4 years, he is set to play the prosecutor Jin-jeong who is known for his brash behavior, bad manners and penchant for going off the books. However, underneath his wild mask, he hopes to take down corruption from within. We will be getting the EXO star in action as he pulls out stunts in the first trailer of ‘Bad Prosecutor’.

D.O. to play a ‘Bad Prosecutor’

In the trailer for ‘Bad Prosecutor’, we see Jin-jeong as a delinquent who never follows the rules and has a mischievous aura to him. His co-workers get frustrated with him while he enjoys fighting off thugs all alone in the middle of the night. The drama is set to air in October every Wednesday and Thursday on KBS2. With D.O. known to be a quiet person in real life who is always silently amused with the antics of the rest of EXO, fans are excited to see a reversal of roles.

D.O.’s last acting project was a cameo in the 2018 K-drama ‘Dear My Room’ before he enlisted for mandatory military service. But having returned, he is booked and busy with multiple films. He has been roped in to play the lead roles in ‘Secret’, ‘The Moon’ and the ensemble film ‘Along with the Gods 3’ where he had played a supporting role in the last 2 prequels.

Fans love the first glimpse of D.O.’s new character as they made tweets like, “I already love Jinjeong so much. His fried hair, his attitude, his fit everything i love him…” Another shared, “We’re really seeing action from actor doh kyungsoo!!!! 🥵 HEEELP.” One EXO-L posted, “Kyungsoo spinning the stick with one hand,,, your honor i cant do this anymore.” Another fan added, “We got kyungsoo kicking ass on one side and jongdae doing finger hearts on the other. I call this range.”
