SAYULITA, MEXICO: 'Bachelor In Paradise' Season 9 is just an episode away from the finale. However, islander Tyler Norris recently baffled the viewers after he shockingly self-eliminated himself right before the rose ceremony.

In the latest episode of the ABC show, Tyler told Mercedes Northup that he didn't feel a spark with her, leading to their split.

As the latest season neared its end, Tyler found himself with no choice but to quit paradise rather than explore more connections on the beach.

However, the viewers called out Tyler for hurting Mercedes. A social media user tweeted, "Pop off, Mercedes! Tyler has been using her."

Another person added, "Tyler clearly came to paradise to have fun, he doesn't want a real relationship with Mercedes. Honey just break up with him and self-eliminate yourself. You had something good with Will."

Another critic said, "Tyler, you were just there for fun. You weren't there to just to play games like just admit it!! ." Another X user wrote, "Tyler self-eliminating himself was a bold move."

Another viewer penned, "Never trust someone on their second trip to paradise. If you go to paradise multiple times you’re not there to find someone. This isn’t the same Tyler as his first time on paradise. Mercedes made the right move here ditching him."

'Bachelor In Paradise' Season 9 star Mercedes Northup recently confronted Tyler Norris after the 'Truth Box' drama.

In the previous episode, Truth Box's message revealed, "Tyler, everyone knows you’re not that into Mercedes. You better come clean 'cause she deserves the truth."

In the latest episode, Mercedes confessed, "I came here to find my person."

She added, "I want a relationship, I want to get married, I want to start a family, I want it all, so it’s definitely going to have to be a real, honest conversation with Tyler tonight, and we’ll see how things go."

She then approached Tyler and said, "We haven’t gotten deeper with each other." She added, "There’s like really no depth. I don’t feel like you’re trying to pursue me."

Mercedes said she heard the possibility of being in a long-distance relationship outside of Mexico played a factor in why he didn't want to get serious about her.

However, Tyler admitted, "It was definitely something I was scared of for sure."
