Ashley McBryde’s sophomore album ‘Never Will’ announced, ‘One Night Standards’ debuts on ‘The Tonight Show’
American country singer-songwriter Ashley McBryde announced the release date of her new album 'Never Will', setting its release on April 3. The full-length 11-track LP will mark the follow-up to her Grammy-nominated debut album 'Girl Going Nowhere', which released in 2018.
She has also revealed the tracklist and you can read it below. Produced by American record producer Jay Joyce, the LP has seen two early single releases, 'One Night Standards', dropped in September 2019 and 'Martha Divine', released on January 13.
McBryde takes the reins on all the tracks as writer, with exception of two of the 11 songs, and collaborates with singers and songwriters including Shane McAnally, Brandy Clark, and Jeremy Spillman, according to Rolling Stone.
Both songs are part of a trilogy, with the third single to be released at a later date, according to Pop Culture. The new album takes its title from the lyrics “I Didn’t, I Don’t and I Never Will,” off its title track.
The singer explains that “before we recorded it with Jay in the studio, I said to my bandmates, ‘If we’re going to cut this and put it on the record, you’re promising anyone who ever listens to our music, we don’t listen to the noise in the background. We didn’t, we don’t and we never will. Don’t cut it unless you’re willing to promise it.’ And we cut it right then.”
Since the release of her debut album, McBryde has been given nods as ACM New Female Artist of the Year, CMA New Artist of the Year, and CMT Breakout Artist of the Year. 'One Night Standards' will get a late-night TV debut on the 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' January 17. She’ll be among acts paying tribute to Aerosmith at the annual MusiCares concert in Los Angeles January 24.
