Is Blackpink collab with Ariana Grande and not Selena Gomez? Fans ask as YG Entertainment follows Scooter Braun
'IT'S HAPPENING', say fans as rumors run rife over who the mystery artiste is that will feature on the K-pop sensation's upcoming single
Famous K-pop girl group Blackpink has been dropping subtle hints with fans worldwide that Ariana Grande could feature as a collaborative artiste in their upcoming single scheduled to drop in August.
The latest speculation arises after the girl group's label, YG Entertainment, began following SB Projects on social media. SB Projects is a deemed talent managing company of Scooter Braun working to build a profile of various singing sensations including Grande at present. Grande was signed by Scooter Braun in 2016 and has been working with him ever since.
Fans of the singer were quick to share their excitement with the latest development and share their speculations around an "Aripink" team-up. A fan posted a picture where the twitter account of SB Projects shows being followed by YG Entertainment. The fan said, "YG STARTED FOLLOWING SB PROJECTS WHICH IS SCOOTERS COMPANY YALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS ARIPINK COLLAB ANNOUNCEMENT IS COMING."
The K- pop band has not yet revealed exactly who will be featuring in their upcoming project, the teaser of which they shared on their Instagram. Earlier this month, fans were convinced that Grande might feature in their upcoming release while others began speculating that it could be Taylor Swift owing to their shared connection with Ryan Tedder and later they shifted their guesses to Selena Gomez.
This dismayed Grande's fans before who wanted her to be in the K-Pop girls' project. However, the recent followings on twitter have elated fans where some are overjoyed while others still seem confused over the collaboration as nothing has been officially announced yet. Sharing their excitement over the perceived ambiguous hints and twitter followings, some fans tweeted, "YG followed SB Projects which is owned by Scotter Braun and he is ARIANA's MANAGER! OMFG?! Pls be ARIPINK!"
"IT'S HAPPENING," said another. Some overjoyed fans tweeted, "ARIPINK I AM SO PROUD OF YOU. AFTER ALL THESE YEARS OF PROVING YOUR LEGACY IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE, AND MOVING A GENERATION OF BOTH PEOPLE AND WOMEN TO BECOME JUST LIKE YOU, YOU HAVE OBTAINED THE MOST ANTICIPATED COLLAB WHICH YOU ARE SO LONG OVERDUE FOR."
Few others took to Twitter to mention that Selena and Blackpink have been liking each other's post and so we must not get excited about it so early. "Selena and Blackpink have been liking each other's posts recently, petra has been working with them…" In response to this, another fan tweeted, "That doesn’t mean much, Blackpink and Selena Gomez are both from Interscope."
On the other front, fans are bewildered and confused over YB and Blackpink's hints and the ongoing speculations. "They keep sending mixed signals, I’m tired," tweeted one fan while another said in exasperation, "bye this is making me so confused."
