LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After the tragic car crash that happened on August 5, 2022, Anne Heche suffered a massive brain injury in the moments following her crash into a home, and as a result, the actress is not expected to survive, according to her representative. She is not expected to survive."
"Plans have been put in place to possibly donate Anne's organs," the rep continued, adding, "It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is being kept on life support to determine if any are viable." "We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne's recovery and thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses that cared for Anne at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills hospital." After the news of Heche being brain dead broke out, trolls and fans clashed on social media, heating the blame game.

'A sad outcome': Internet love pours in for Anne Heche after she's declared brain dead
A heated debate began between Heche's fans and trolls on social media. While some users defended Heche and prayed for her recovery, some held Heche accountable for the tragic accident and showed compassion for the woman who lost her home and all her life belongings. A user wrote in defense of Heche, "Anne Heche not expected to survive a fiery crash into a home, her family says Very sadly but smoke inhalation leading to basically "shock lung" is hard to overcome. I personally hope she makes it. She may have used drugs and had problems but she is not a villain." "Heartbreaking. Seemed like a good person. Very unfortunate", one user wrote.

While another wrote, "Must've been going through some tough times for a while, very sad to see." On the other hand, there were many who criticized Heche and held her accountable for the outcome. "Instead of praying for Anne Heche, who drove drunk, crashed into a garage, took off and drove 90MPH in a residential area, crashing into a house & setting it ablaze, how’s about you donate to the woman whose home was completely destroyed & lost everything," a user wrote.

To this, a user replied taking a stand for Heche, "How about some compassion for someone who has admitted to mental illness and written a book about her struggles? Yes, the homeowner lost her home and belongings but they can be replaced easily enough--especially when most of what ppl cherish is not as important as your health!".

This erupted a battle of words among users on Twitter. A user wrote, ''You cannot easily replace a home and all of your belongings, especially in this economy. Some people’s insurance’s max payout won’t cover their losses. You have no idea what kind of financial situation that homeowner is in."
Another wrote, "No. I have ZERO compassion for the drunk driver. You ALWAYS have a choice whether or not to drive while impaired. Their victims have NO choice."

"Compassion? Why is a woman with said mental struggles drinking and driving, so drunk she crashed multiple times and kept driving till she destroyed a home? How about have compassion for all the people she could have killed," another user wrote criticizing Heche.
