'A sad outcome': Internet love pours in for Anne Heche after she's declared brain dead
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Anne Heche was involved in an ugly crash that left her with serious burns, and her recovery was in question ever since. However, family and friends of Heche have officially declared that the actress-director was brain dead after her fiery car crash in Los Angeles. The tragic statement further read that Heche will soon be taken off life support once it is determined whether any of her remaining organs are viable to be donated.
A representative for Heche's family said, "We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne's recovery and thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses that cared for Anne at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills hospital. Unfortunately, due to the accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive." The rep also explained that the 53-year-old 'Donny Brasco' actress chose to be an organ donor long ago, so she will be technically alive until the check is complete and thorough. They also said that this decision was as per Heche's wishes saying, "It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is being kept on life support to determine if any are viable."
