'Sore loser': Viewers slam visibly upset Angela Bassett's reaction as Jamie Lee Curtis beat her at Oscars 2023
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Angela Bassett's reaction to Jamie Lee Curtis beating her to the 'Best Supporting Actress' at the Oscars 2023 has gone viral, and viewers are not impressed. Bassett, 64, looked visibly disappointed and did not applaud as Curtis expressed her joy at winning the award for 'Everything Everywhere All at Once'. This is Curtis' first Oscar in her decades-long career. Bassett, on the other hand, was hoping to win the Marvel Studio's first-ever acting Oscar.
As Jamie Lee Curtis, also 64, accepted the award, she thanked the people she has worked with throughout her career. “I look like I’m standing up here by myself–I am not,” she said. Curtis dedicated her award to “all the people who have supported the genre movies that I have made for all these years.”
