LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hollywood's biggest night is back as the Oscars 2023 kicked off on Sunday, March 12, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Jimmy Kimmel is hosting the awards for the third time and also his first time since 2018, which was the last Oscars to feature a solo host.

As the show began, footage of Lady Gaga rushing to help a photographer who fell on the red carpet went viral. In the video, members of the press can be seen circling the singer as she walks along the carpet. One of them suddenly falls, and Lady Gaga stops and quickly runs over to help him up. The broadcast can be streamed with a subscription to Hulu Live TV, YouTubeTV, AT&T TV and Fubo TV.

Lady Gaga may perform Oscar-nominated song

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga is expected to perform 'Hold My Hand' on the show, the Oscar-nominated song from 'Top Gun: Maverick,' according to insiders who spoke to Variety. It was initially reported that she would not be performing.

Oscars executive producer and showrunner Glenn Weiss had previously said, "We have a great relationship with Lady Gaga and her camp. She is in the middle of shooting a movie right now. Here, we are honoring the movie industry and what it takes to make a movie after a bunch of back and forth… It didn’t feel like she can get a performance to the caliber that we’re used to with her and that she is used to. So, she is not going to perform on the show."
