'Never done it before': Andie MacDowell reveals Sharon Stone got her on dating app Raya after her last date was 'a catastrophe'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Andie MacDowell revealed on Monday, February 13, 2023, that her 'The Muse' co-star Sharon Stone inspired her to join a dating app often used by celebrities. The actress, 64, who had previously been only focusing on her work, further talked about an awful experience that led her to eventually "give up" on dating.
While appearing on 'The Jennifer Hudson Show', the talk show host asked if MacDowell had received any advice on dating from her friends, to which the ‘Ready Or Not’ star responded, "I did have Sharon Stone reach out to me to tell me that Raya, she's on Raya, that's the one I'm gonna do … She said she met two gay guys on there and that was all that she got from Raya." MacDowell expressed she thought that the app could be "kind of fun" hearing that. "Yeah that would be a fun date, too — I would go!" Hudson chimed in before MacDowell shared more context.

'I'm going to focus on trying to date'
The 'Groundhog Day' actress remarked that she's still "in the process" of setting up a dating profile. "I've never done it before and I haven't really been dating," MacDowell explained. "I didn't put the energy into it, I've been so happy working and doing other things and now I'm going to focus on trying to date — mostly to do research for my new show, really."
MacDowell described her last date as 'a catastrophe'
The 'Maid' star goes on to share her last dating experience which was not so pleasant. "The last date I went on was kind of a catastrophe. I think that was part of the reason I gave up … The first thing that he did … we were going up to this museum and he looked at me and got really close to my face and he goes, ‘You know, you’re beautiful for your age.' … And I said to him, I'm not usually really quick on my feet like this, but I said to him, ‘Why not just say I’m beautiful,'" she recounted. "The date did not go well after that. That was my last date. It's been a long time. It's rather pathetic, to tell you the truth — but honestly, I've been really happy," she said.
MacDowell, who has been married twice, admitted that she hasn't "really been lonely" despite not being out in some time. She said: "It hasn't been my priority; other things have mattered more to me." She said that her work has inspired her to try her hand at love again. "But I want to play romantic roles, so I think I need to do a little homework," she said. "So I remember how to be romantic because it's been so long I don't know if I'll remember what to do!", added MacDowell.
