The original version of 'Limbo' marked the second studio album by Aminé and was released on August 7, 2020. Upon its initial release, the album was attributed as the rapper's biggest project to date and saw significant commercial success. It debuted at No. 16 on the US Billboard 200 chart, earning 26,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.
Additionally, Aminé also took to the stage on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' in September to perform 'Limbo' songs such as 'Woodlawn' and the opening track 'Burden' while floating atop a real hot air balloon. The LP also saw Aminé paying tribute Kobe Bryant on 'Kobe' and to some of the Black people who were killed by police this past summer, such as Breonna Taylor, Mike Brown, George Floyd, and more.
