Such was the setting for the stage for Arkansas' Kelsey Lamb that fans felt the country music singer would be one of the hits of the show, but her single 'Never Like This' opened to mixed responses. Fans were comparing her performance to that of Minnesota's Yam Haus and Oklahoma's Alexa and felt it could be a lot better. Safe to say, it didn't receive the bad response that Yam Haus received.

Hosted by Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson who also serve as Executive Producers, 'American Song Contest' will see the states of the US take on each other with some of their best artists representing their respective states and hope to win the coveted prize. Onto the reactions now: "I really liked #Arkansas' Kelsey Lamb song "Never like this"! #AmericanSongContest," one of the tweets read. "Very confused about how everything works but I hope @kelsey_lamb makes it to the next round! #AmericanSongContest," another wrote.

"Kelsey Lamb is my fave so far - didn’t need flashy performance theatrics & really focused on lyrics + the song itself #americansongcontest," another fan remarked. "3. Arkansas - Kelsey Lamb: “Never Like This” I thought I was going to love this song, but it didn’t impress me like I hoped. The chorus was good, but that’s it. Also, where was that jump suit she was wearing in the rehearsals?! That dress was horrible! #AmericanSongContest," one of the tweets read.

"Im gonna be tougher on country artists. The Kelsey Lamb song did nothing for me. She’s got a nice singing voice, but it’s gonna take a stronger performance. #AmericanSongContest," a fan opined. "I do like this stripped back staging for this song... and as I type that there's petals raining down onstage. It all works though! Kinda wish there was a bit more connection to the camera but that was lovely. #AmericanSongContest #Arkansas #KelseyLamb," one of the tweets read.

"Arkansas isn’t pronounced Arc-can-sis? Disappointing. Thank you Kelsey Lamb for a gorgeous stage setting and a very lovely song! Something like this has never happened and you’re making history! #AmericanSongContest," a fan exclaimed. Another viewer wrote: Kelsey Lamb has a beautiful voice & her performance was so gorgeous!"
