'American Ninja Warrior' is back with Season 12 but not with Drew Drechsel, who has been canceled by NBC following his arrest on August 4 on allegations of sex crimes. He is a revered ninja warrior and has proven a number of times that he is worthy of respect. He is a 2019 'ANW' champion and has mentored countless aspiring ninjas, especially children over the years. But despite the series of allegations, he has not lost his position as a 'real-life ninja' among fans who are upset that the network has severed ties with him.

"Tbh i feel kind of bad for whoever was on Drews team if they were edited out too," a fan commented on a thread on Reddit, while another posted: "I'm sure they're happier to be erased from this season than appear with him. Tricky part would be the standings affected by 3."

"I'm disappointed that ANW is going to straight out ignore Dreschel. They could have taken this chance to do a PSA before the show. Just my opinion of course," a viewer wrote.

"It’s sad that I can no longer watch many old episodes. All old episodes in which Drew appears have been removed. That includes so many competitors including the finals," a user shared on the show's Facebook page, to which another responded: "I know. It mad me pretty mad too."

"I understand. I am heartbroken for his son and girlfriend," a user expressed.

The fans may be upset about not being able to catch a glimpse of their favorite ninja and it's highly unlikely that NBC will bring him back after the very serious allegations. "American Ninja Warrior is a family show that has inspired countless people, and we will not let the actions of one contestant tarnish the hard work and amazing stories of so many," a spokesperson for NBCUniversal said.

According to the official press release issued by the US Attorney’s Office of the District of New Jersey, Drew and the underage girl met in 2015 at an 'ANW' event where they exchanged numbers and have been in touch since. The officials have access to evidence that proves Drew convinced the girl to send him nudes and engage in sexual activities.
