'American Idol' Season 22 finale viewers call out 'rude' Katy Perry as she eats and throws pizza on audience
SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 judge Katy Perry bids a farewell to the ABC show after the amazing seven seasons. She was emotional about her journey and claimed that she would cry at every little moment in the finale. Katy notably did cry but also sported eating and throwing pizza which sparked outrage among the viewers.
The ABC show paid tribute to Katy with a video montage featuring a series of the best, emotional and celebratory moments of the pop star. However, Katy was eating pizza during her tribute. After the tribute, Katy was spotted wiping off her tears as host Ryan Seacrest told her to reconsider her decision to leave 'American Idol'.
Katy later shared a behind-the-scenes video in which she threw a slice of pizza in the audience. The ABC show audience seemed to be crazy over the pizza and jumped to catch the slice but it fell on the floor. She captioned her post, "A pizza my heart will always be on the idol stage. The viewers left furious over Katy's latest behaviour and called her out.
A social media user commented, "I’m wondering how ozempic works. I guess you can still eat pizza on live tv?" Another viewer wrote, "That was silly and disrespectful." Another person added, "I'm a fan, but you should never do that to anyone. Wrong doing, sorry."
Another internet user penned, "Thats so rude." Another critic added, "That's not a nice thing to do." Another Instagram user suggested, "Don’t waste food like that. I’m your biggest fan but this is wrong you should never do that to anyone. " Another follower noted, "This is bad. Shouldn’t throw food just like that."

'American Idol' paid a stunning tribute to Katy Perry as it was her last season on the ABC show. Several singers took the stage to a single of Katy's hit songs. Abi Carter, McKenna Breinholt and Emmy Russell graced the ABC show stage to perform 'Teenage Dream' followed by 'Dark Horse'.
The trio was joined by more ABC show alums to perform, 'California Gurls'. Katy was in awe with the tribute and ended up mounting the judges' table. She stood on it to express her excitement about the tribute.
Katy Perry pays tribute to contestants she had mentored
Katy Perry graced the 'American Idol' Season 22 finale stage for the last time as a judge. She delivered a stirring performance on her 2020 hit 'What Makes a Woman'. However, the highlight of her performance was Katy's floor-length gown.
Katy's outfit was as meaningful as her performance as it featured faces of Idol contestants she has mentored over the years. Katy's performance ended up with a duet with finalist Jack Blocker.
