As her harrowing six-week-long defamation trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp has finally come to an end, Amber Heard is apparently planning to take a breather in the desert she loves. According to reports, the actress, 36, is preparing to relocate to Joshua Tree, California, along with her one-year-old daughter Oonagh, to a $1 million three-bedroom family home.

A source revealed to Mirror, “Amber loves spending time in the desert. It’s the one place she can get away from everything. She’s really connected with the artistic community there, and feels she experiences a true getaway.” The source continued, “Joshua Tree is full of cool hipsters and it’s just her scene. She can get away from it all and it’s a sanctuary,” adding, “In recent months, it’s given her time to reflect and escape the pressures of the case.” In fact, Amber Heard said, "Perhaps it's easy to forget, but I am a human being," on the final day of the trial. We guess the getaway will definitely help her ease the trial’s heat.

Depp, 58, sued his ex-wife for $50 million over an op-ed she penned for the Washington Post in 2018. In the piece, Heard claimed to be a survivor of domestic violence - a reference Depp's lawyers have argued has damaged his career prospects in Hollywood, even though he wasn't actually mentioned in the article. In retaliation, Heard countersued for $100 million and claimed Depp did indeed assault her during their tumultuous marriage. The hugely publicized trial came to a close on May 27, 2022.

Meanwhile, news of Amber Heard’s planned escape to the desert did not go unnoticed on Twitter. While some supported her, most users seemed to be against her on the platform. One user wrote, “#JusticeForJohnnyDepp  u know who else loved thh desert  cult leaders manson to start with maybe everyone should see her for what she is only her sister only one left as others realised what she is....”

Another said, “Amber Heard droned on about how super sensitive and delicate her skin was. then buys a house in the desert.” One tweet read, “@SkyNews what you really should be reporting on is the fact @realamberheard can somehow buy a £1 million ($) HOME in the desert BUT stiffed the children's hospital out of money! Poor guy has been our through the ringer let him burn some steam playing guitar supporting a friend”

Another wrote, “It's not a hideaway if she provides photographs of it to the press. Good lord,” while someone added, “Yet she still hasn't given the pledged divorce settlement to charity. If she can lie publicly about how she had donated all the money to a children's hospital then what else will she lie about !  She is a scheming lying liar that lies.  What a turd she is.”

One user fumed, “@realamberheard is apperantly moving to a 1 million dollar desert home with some hipsters after the trial.... she's assuming she's going to win? What will you do when you lose amber? You're only worth 8 million lol how will you pay the 50?”
