Amanda Bynes leaves mental health facility three weeks after psychiatric care following bipolar episode
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Amanda Bynes ended her three-week stay at a mental health facility where she was under psychiatric care. The former actress was released from the facility in southern California on Monday, April 11 of her own volition.
The 37-year-old and medical staff at the facility worked together to determine that she was all set to return back her day-to-day routines. Following her release, Bynes who got a sense of normalcy will be starting an outpatient treatment program to ensure that the treatment's progress is maintained further. The 'All That' actress will reportedly return to her own home, according to TMZ.

Bynes' conservatorship since 2013
Bynes' conservatorship which spanned nine years ended in 2022 and will now let her make decisions for herself. According to the outlet, as the former had been doing considerably well before the bipolar episodes, her parents Lynn and Rick Bynes did not try to set up another conservatorship for her. "Amanda appreciates the love and support of her fans during this time. She thanks her family for never giving up. Now that the conservatorship has ended, she looks forward to completing her bachelor’s degree and living her life," said her attorney David A Esquibias when the conservatorship ended.
Bynes' recent mental health crisis
In Long Beach, Bynes' car was towed on March 15 and she wandered alone on the streets for four days straight in the Greater Los Angeles area. She was shifted to a hospital following the incident for her frantic behavior. She reportedly roamed around naked on the day she was taken to the mental health facility. A witness said that she flagged a car down and sought help saying that she was recovering from a psychotic episode, according to the Daily Mail.
To seek assistance, Bynes dialed 911 and informed them about her psychotic state. She was then placed under a 72-hour psychiatric hold after she was picked up. The medical team at the facility decided to extend her treatment and devised a plan for her treatment. The 'Easy A' star who retired from her acting career in 2010 has been arrested twice for suspicion of DUI. The former actress was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar.
