MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: Tyler Perry had a reunion with his old tenants in Montecito recently. The filmmaker was reportedly seen taking a 20-minute private jet worth $125 million in Los Angeles before making a landing in Santa Barbara, where he saw Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Two hours after the meeting, Perry flew back to Atlanta, Georgia.

The jet used by the entrepreneur was the same that he gave to the Sussexes in 2020 as they left the UK to start a financially independent life, reported Daily Mail. Perry is reportedly the godfather of the pair’s secondborn, Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, and also the owner of a Los Angeles mansion, where the family stayed for months in 2020 before moving to their $14.7 million Montecito home.

'Hopefully he also told them to shut their mouths'

The weekend get-together of Perry and the former senior royal couple, however, did not go down well with the people online. A user tweeted, “Tyler Perry made an emergency flight on his private jet to visit Meghan and Harry at home for 2 hours.. Hopefully he has convinced them to STAY AWAY FROM THE CORONATION... Hopefully he also told them to shut their mouths and leave us all alone and that people are sick of them.”

Another user wrote, “Apparently first Meghan rescued Harry , then Harry rescued Meghan, then Tyler Perry rescued them both. THESE TWO WATCH WAY TOO MUCH DISNEY , always playing damsels in distress.” The third user shared, “And Tyler is going to what, pay their Mortgage 🤔😏😏.”

“They are scrambling and no one else wants to help. They’ll need a free jet if they go to the coronation and no doubt, free security and free rent soon here in the States. Their brand has sailed to the South Pole and sunk the boat,” the fourth one wrote, and the fifth one added, “Surely Megnut told Uncle Tyler she was setting his house (yes his) house on fire. He had to come.”

‘Raises an acute dilemma’

The visit by Perry came soon after it was revealed that Harry and Meghan had been invited to King Charles' coronation in May. According to a spokesperson for the Sussexes, “I can confirm The Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty's office regarding the coronation. An immediate decision on whether the Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.”

But royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has warned the duo against not attending the event. Fitzwilliams told MailOnline, “It has always been clear that King Charles would invite Harry and Meghan to the Coronation.

"As a symbol of national unity, he believes this is important. However, their response is uncertain, which and raises an acute dilemma for them. On the one hand, they want discussions with senior royals and accountability for what they believe they went through when they were senior working royals.”

‘They will seem very out of touch’

“They believe that, together with the press, the royal family sought to drive them into exile. They want an apology. They will not get it. The Sussexes have contracts with Netflix, Spotify, and Random House. They only have these because they are members of the Royal Family. If they did not attend this momentous event they will seem very out of touch,” he explained.

Fitzwilliams also added, “Also the courtiers are aware of their obsession with controlling the narrative and for getting publicity. They will be strictly controlled as they were during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Discussions with other royals will focus on the weather. So the dilemma is theirs. They won’t be missed if they don’t come by much of the British public. However, if they don’t they risk appearing an irrelevance and polls in America have shown a seismic drop in their support."

“Since they have not decided on constructive careers and the endless interviews, the memoir and threats of more memoirs are recent proof of this, I suspect they dared not stay away. We shall see.”
