Warning: Spoilers ahead for 'Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Zack Snyder's 'Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver' is the second part of the Rebel Moon space opera saga. The film depicts rebel warriors uniting against the Realm to defend the small village of Veldt.
The first part 'Rebel Moon- Part One: The Child of Fire' concluded with the warriors achieving victory over the Realm, only for them to return in the second installment.
'Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver' features many interesting characters who deeply resonate with audiences through their journeys and physical and emotional actions.
Let us rank these characters from the film.
1. Gunnar
Gunnar(Michiel Huisman) is our favorite character in the film. He makes the ultimate sacrifice for the love of his life, Kora (Sofia Boutella), by giving his life to protect her.
He begins as a man primarily focused on his interests, but his time with Kora catalyzes a profound transformation, leading him to fight for Veldt.
Gunnar is the ultimate lover and his death scene is sure to evoke tears from even the most rigid person out there.
2. Tarak
Tarak played by Staz Nair is arguably one character who deserves a spin-off. His journey from prince to warrior presents an enthralling character arc just waiting to be further explored.
He's an emotional character who isn't afraid to show vulnerability. In one of the best scenes of the film, Tarak has second thoughts about fighting the war right when he is in the middle of it.
For a character portrayed as strong, such moments of vulnerability are a rarity in films.
3. Kora
Kora, played by Sofia Boutella, emerges as the ultimate Hero of the film. She is the quintessential protagonist who protects the interests of Veldt and becomes the messiah of the people of this village.
When her character arc begins, she is a woman who does not want to fall in love, but she discovers love through the course of the film. Her emotional journey reaches its peak when she cries at Gunnar's death.
She is carrying the burden of killing Princess Issa (Stella Grace Fitzgerald) but by the end of the film, she overcomes that wound too when she comes to know of Issa being alive.
4. Atticus Noble
Atticus Nobel, played brilliantly by Ed Skrin, embodies the ultimate antagonist. Despite not being physically imposing, his presence is as menacing as any other.
He is merciless in his approach to killing, lacking even a trace of restraint in his DNA.
Now, while this character might not be on the warrior side, he undeniably exudes an aura that makes him irresistibly attractive. he scene where he returns from the dead is perhaps the highlight of the film.
His strength and ruthlessness is what makes the Rebel victory seem even more triumphant.
5. Nemesis
Nemesis, played by Bae Moon, wins people over with her actions, notably when she saves Eljun (Caden Dragomer) from the clutches of a big burly Imperium soldier
She dies on the battlefront, making herself immortal by overcoming her guilt for a past wrongdoing. The character is another deserving candidate for a potential spin-off.
6. Jimmy
Jimmy, voiced by Anthony Hopkins, is a robot who consistently stands by the warriors. It only takes a small act of kindness to reveal the goodness within him.
At a time when the warriors look like they are being dominated by the Imperium forces, he arrives and levels the playing field, executing a remarkable save. Anthony Hopkins' voice makes him all the more adorable.
7. Titus
Now, make no mistake, we do not discount what Titus (Djimon Hounsou) did for the Veldt but we just cannot forgive him for his past. Frankly, neither can he, he carries his guilt wherever he goes.
He sacrificed the lives of many soldiers on the battlefield to save his own, which makes us not love him compared to the other characters in the film.
