When will 'All Rise' Season 2 Episode 7 air? Here's what to expect when legal drama returns after another break

A new episode for 'All Rise' will not air next week, but here's when it is likely to return and what you can expect from the episode

In the latest episode of CBS's legal drama, 'All Rise', there were multiple crises as one of Lola Carmichael's (Simone Missick) decision from the previous episode comes back to bite her and Mark Callan's (Wilson Bethel) crusade against a corrupt sheriff puts him in danger.

What happened previously?

In the episode that aired before the winter break, Lola encouraged a Black man, Leon, to take the plea deal so he could spend the holidays with his family because she was sure that the jury would find him guilty. However, in the previous episode, she learned that the jury, in fact, was going to acquit him. She then spends the episode wondering whether she should inform Leon or let it slide.

Her peers and her bosses tell her that she should keep it to herself because it could harm her reputation. However, Lola continued to do what she felt was right as she called the head juror, the prosecutor and the public defender. The head juror calls her out for not trusting the jury after she told them that what they were doing is important. Lola then leaves it up to Leon and his lawyer, Emily Lopez (Jessica Camacho), to take the next steps.

Leon, of course, gets angry that Lola pressured him to admit it and tells Emily that he wants to get his good name back and then make sure that Lola Carmichael "never does this" to anyone else again. Emily files a withdrawal of the plea, and asks Lola to correct the "miscarriage of justice". Lola grants the motion and the prosecutor agrees not to pursue the case, leaving Leon a free man.

Meanwhile, as Mark continues his fight against the sheriff who is suspected of attempted murder, he gets attacked in the middle of a street in a planned attack and is stabbed. While others are concerned for Mark, he continues to work, even showing up to work wearing the bloody shirt.

However, Mark's crusade is not going as well as he would wish as Anne Heche shows up as police union lawyer Corinne Cuthbert to defend the sheriff. Because this case stands to alienate the police department from the District Attorney's office, the DA's handling of the case does not favor him.

When will Episode 7 air and what to expect?

'All Rise' may just be back, but the show is already going on another break shortly after returning from its winter break. While the reasons for this are not clear, it is most likely due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the recent rise in infections in Los Angeles.

As such, the next episode will not air next Monday, on January 11. Normally, we expect that 'All Rise' will return with new episodes on January 18, when 'Bob Hearts Abishola' also returns, given that CBS' Monday lineup usually follows the same dates for breaks and returns. However, it is important to note that CBS's lineup for Monday, January 18, does not reflect this. Instead, 'All Rise' is replaced by 'Let's Make a Deal Primetime', so it is likely that 'All Rise' returns even later.

Based on what's been going on so far, we expect the remaining episodes of Season 2 to focus on Lola's pregnancy and Mark's big case. There will be more ruminations for Lola on how she does her job and it remains to be seen how badly her career will be affected.

We were also introduced to August Fox (Rick Fox) who will play a big role in shaping Luke Watkins (J Alex Brinson) by introducing him to restorative justice — something that would be very interesting to see Luke take on.
