With time, 'All American' is getting all the more serious by putting a spotlight on racism, gang wars, and mental health issues. In Episode 11, Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) was shot by a bullet and all his friends and family members came together to rally for him during the surgery. After a successful operation, he may get back to the grind for his football comeback.

Titled 'Only Time Will Tell', the episode hints at a possible conflict between Spencer and Asher Adams(Cody Christian). The latter seems to be getting way too serious about his game and that may be the effect of performance-enhancing drugs on him. In a 21-second clip, Asher says, "Football is all that I have. I will take on Spencer James," while Spencer stares at him in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Spencer is motivated to be back on the field and promises to be "better than he ever was." After looking at the trailer, one fan posted on Twitter: "Damn Spencer coming back is going to send Asher over the edge with the steroids. Poor baby!" Another tweet read: "Asher will be dealing with his own issues. He will likely push liv to spencer. But whatever happens, it's going to be good drama."

Tagged as 'Determination', the summary reads: Billy (Taye Diggs) and Grace (Karimah Westbrook) are concerned that Spencer is going to push himself too hard before he is ready, which could make things worse for Spencer in the long run. Determined to secure their football future, Spencer, Darnell (guest star Abraham D. Juste) and Jordan (Michael Evans Behling) decide to go on a college football visit, but Darnell’s chance might be taken away by someone close to him."

"Asher’s teammates and Olivia (Samantha Logan) have been noticing a difference in Asher’s performance and attitude on and off the field, leaving them to wonder why he is pushing himself so hard. Meanwhile, Layla (Greta Onieogou) thinks she knows what she wants to do with her future and needs Coop (Bre-Z) to do it," it further reads.

Directed by Kelli Williams and written by John A.Norris, the episode is all set to release next Monday, February 10, 2020, on The CW.
