'Alice', the time travel-themed K-Drama might have left fans confused with its theory behind how time travel in their world works, but it is still disappointing to see that no episodes of the show will air this week on SBS. The broadcast changes were made to accommodate the Korean national holiday Chuseok, which is Thanksgiving day for the country. In light of this, special programs are broadcast on free channels which resulted in networks changing their broadcast schedule.

On Thursday, October 1, MBC's 'When I was Most Beautiful' which had been receiving criticism for its messy plot and portrayal of toxic relationships also postponed airing the episode that was originally scheduled in light of the TV concert that was aired on KBS featuring a popular Korean Trot singer. Similarly, this week's Episodes 11 and 12 have been postponed and will now air on October 9 and 10 respectively.

In fact, the confusing plotline of 'Alice' which continues to push for a romance between a man (Jin-gyeom) and a woman (Tae-yi) who like the man's mother (and could possibly be the same person from a different timeline) has received negative reviews. Many are unable to accept this forced relationship and the fact that the rules of time travel in the show have not been set very well has pushed viewers to drop the show in between.

This would mean less viewership within the country and outside. A few other fans, however, believe that the show is worth giving a second chance depending on the remaining six episodes and await the verdict from audiences who have continued to watch the show.

One viewer commented on My Drama List, "To everyone still watching/watching til the end i.e., those whose final opinion we (people who've put this on-hold) rely on, whether to continue or not, I have just one thing to say: YOU THE REAL MVP." Many fans have also said that they have stuck with the show because of the lead actors Joo Won and Kim Hee-seon.

One fan wrote, "Time travel aspect wise, IMO this is nowhere near Nine, at this point as of ep 10 my expectation goes lower & lower if they could explain their rule properly & stick right through it. Because they threw a bunch of idea but now the way they shown it, it's just messed up & the rule doesn't add up one and another, not to mention we got this disturbing romance they keep forcing in our throat instead (although I don't think they'll fully went (go) that way, but still it annoys me how they choose to shot(w) it that way & it brings down/degrading the whole drama itself to me)."

The fan added, "It's a pity because I love their premise/ general idea/ plot itself but the directing is such a disappointment. Joo Won is great in here though, am still watching this for him & also for Lee Da-in's acting & character (she is a discovery for me)."

Another fan, however, suggested new viewers give the show a try with an open mind. The fan commented, "Yes. I think that it is engaging story wise, and the actors are all amazing. I do think that the misinterpretation of mother/son is awkwardly displayed here. 'Back to the Future' had something similar, but that was a film that was 2 hrs compared to a drama series. Other than that, don't think too much about the time travel aspects, and go in with a fresh mind."

'Alice' airs on SBS on Fridays and Saturdays at 10 pm KST and can be streamed on Viki Global.
