“You can’t buy me for nothing” is what Adele said while taking a firm stand on the cancelation of her Las Vegas residency shows in the first week of July. However, the Academy Award-winning songstress seemed to have had a change of heart as on Monday, July 25, she announced the rescheduling of her Las Vegas shows, quickly sending the Internet into a meltdown.

While the fans were elated over Adele rescheduling her Vegas shows 'Weekends With Adele', the steep cost of tickets sent the music lovers into a shock. Many took to Twitter to express their concern over the same while a few others said they would rather buy the CD and listen to Adele. The latest comes after the ’Rolling in the Deep’ hitmaker apologized profusely for postponing her residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. She was initially scheduled to play on January 21 and wrap it up in mid-April. In January, the 34-year-old British crooner shared an emotional video listing the Covid-19 pandemic as the reason for the Las Vegas residency.

‘You can’t buy me for nothing’: Adele says Las Vegas residency not up to her standard!

‘Words can’t explain how ecstatic I am’

Taking to her Instagram with more than 50 million fans and followers, Adele shared the big news with a photo of hers and a detailed thanking note. “Words can’t explain how ecstatic I am to finally be able to announce these rescheduled shows. I truly was heartbroken to have to cancel them.”  The award-winning singer continued, “But after what feels like an eternity of figuring out logistics for the show that I really want to deliver, and knowing it can happen, I’m more excited than ever!”

Adele added, “Now I know for some of you it was a horrible decision on my part, and I will always be sorry for that, but I promise you it was the right one” concluding, “To be with you in such an intimate space every week has been what I’ve most been looking forward to and I’m going to give you the absolute best of me. Thank you for your patience, I love you. Adele.”

When is Adele coming back to Las Vegas residency?

Adele, on Instagram, revealed she will be heading the stage in November 2022. The 'Weekends With Adele' residency will now take place from November 18, 2022, to March 25, 2023, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Apart from the 24 rescheduled shows, eight new shows have been added to the list.

How much do the tickets cost and how to buy?

The tickets for Adele’s rescheduled Las Vegas shows can be purchased from Ticketmaster or Ticket Network. The cheapest ones go a little above $1000 whereas, if you want to enjoy the concert from the front row, you will have to shell out more than $40K. The moderate one ranges from a little above $4K to $20K. The reps for The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace have not commented on the steep prices for Adele’s concert.

Taking a firm stance on her decision to not do the Las Vegas residency, Adele in an interview with BBC radio earlier said, “I definitely felt everyone’s disappointment and I was devastated and I was frightened about letting them down, and I thought I could pull it together and make it work and I couldn’t, and I stand by that decision.” She added that the backlash she got for the same was “brutal” that left her as a “shell of a person for a couple of months.”

Adele shed further light on the situation saying, “You can’t buy me, you can’t buy me for nothing.” She continued, “I’m not going to just do a show because I have to or because people are going to be let down or because we’re going to lose loads of money. I’m like, ‘the show’s not good enough.” Adele concluded, “I’m not gonna update you if I ain’t got nothing to update you with because that just leads to more disappointment", as reported by Page Six.

‘Will never pay a concert ticket more than $200’

Social media users thronged to Twitter to express their shock over expensive concert tickets. “I like Adele, but even if God was singing, I wouldn't pay that much”, said one stunned user as another chimed in “$40,000 for a ticket to see ANY singer is an obscene amount of money.” One user quipped, “I will never pay a concert ticket more than $200” whereas, another mentioned, “I wouldn’t go even if SHE paid me $40,000” adding a vomiting emoji in the end.  Another user tweeted, “I will just download the CD.”

The next one shared, “I don’t see this as being a problem to those who ‘worship’ her. After all there are people who pay far more just to go into space.” Another posted, “Not me getting excited about Adele's shows being rescheduled like I have tickets or am even remotely willing to cough up thousands of dollars to go see her in Vegas.” One user stated, “Adele’s Ticket Prices for Las Vegas are f**king insane!!!!” as another dubbed the steep prices as, “Disgusting and disturbing!”
