Actress Allyssa Brooke's teenage son was brutally attacked on a basketball court during a game and sustained severe injuries. The whole incident was caught on camera while other students allegedly 'stood by and laughed'. According to reports, Nick suffered a broken jaw in 3 places, a severe concussion and whiplash. The incident took place on July 21, 2021.

Nick was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors found a baseball-sized lump formed on the back of his head. Reportedly, Nick is being fed liquids through a syringe because his jaw's been wired shut for six weeks. Nick's mother is known for her stints in 'Stranger Things', 'Ozarks' and 'Queen of the South'.

The incident was reportedly filmed by other students who 'laughed' over the ordeal. Fuming over the same, Allyssa said, "I don't have words to articulate the anger that people found joy in my son's pain. That they didn't see a human being thrown to the ground, that they saw joy, they saw humor, and they laughed at that. That's my son. I don't expect everybody to be a hero and run in to save the day if that's not your style. But, to laugh and applaud, and cheer, that's not humanity."

The actress further noted that Nick has a long way to recovery, as after his jaw's unwired, he'll need weeks of bands to strengthen and retrain his bite. In addition to that, he will need to wear braces for 6 months to align his teeth, several of which were twisted out of place.

In light of the incident, the actress has started a campaign demanding public schools create a 'Code of Ethics' for students. Allyssa noted that while her son Nick "has been at home with his mouth wired shut, his attackers and those who applauded and cheered his attack, continue to attend school and play Varsity sports". Urging more and more people to sign the petition, the actress wrote on Twitter, "Please join me in demanding accountability for students who participate in violent, hateful, bullying and otherwise offensive behaviors. This is my son after a 2.5 hour surgery to wire his mouth shut. He was assaulted and his jaw was broken in 3 places" Allyssa also demanded that the kids who filmed the incident should also be brought to justice.

Reports say that the kid who broke Nick's jaw has been charged with assault as a juvenile. A GoFundMe is also set to help with Nick's hospital bills, which have reportedly exceeded $50,000.
