Gayle King's fans are thrilled she's hosting CBS special 'ACM Present: Our Country': 'You've earned this'

American television personality Gayle King announced on March 31 on her show 'CBS This Morning' that she will be hosting an upcoming CBS special, 'ACM Presents: Our Country'. The show will be available for streaming on CBS All Access on April 5, starting at 8:00 pm ET/PT.

'Our Country' will feature intimate at-home acoustic performances as well as conversations with an extensive line-up of country music's most celebrated artists. The special will also show clips from favorite ACM Awards moments from previous ceremonies.

The brand-new special comes as a clever initiative to give fans a superb country-music treat while they wait for the 55th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards show which has been postponed to September due to coronavirus concerns, according to Billboard.

The awards show was meant to take place on April 5, but viewers can now enjoy 'ACM Presents: Our Country' with America's greatest country stars performing from their homes under quarantine.

On King's Twitter, she announced the upcoming event with: "It will be a concert like you’ve never seen before and I know because I’ve seen the rough cut... it’s good! I’m thrilled they asked me to HOST (sic)".

Fans too are looking forward to seeing their favorite TV celebrity host the award show. "Congratulations, Gayle, you are fabulous," says a fan while another says, "You go, girl".

One fan said, "Gayle you are awesome.....thanks for keeping us up to date with news and interviews!!!!! Be bless ..stay safe!!!! Congrats.... (sic)". Another fan declared their eagerness for the show, saying, "Same time same place! On my couch! I’m so ready."

Other comments included, "#Gayle I'll take anything you have to offer. If it's live it's good! (sic)" and "Awwww yay!!! I’m glad they chose you too!! (sic)" and "Congrats, Gayle, you've earned this!"

As previously announced, 'ACM Presents: Our Country' will feature performances from Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Luke Combs, Sheryl Crow, Kane Brown and John Legend, Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker, Luke Bryan, Brandi Carlile, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Old Dominion, Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. Additionally, the show will honor 10-time ACM Award winner Kenny Rogers with performances by Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker.

The winners for last year's country music awards show include Keith Urban, Kacey Musgraves, Thomas Rhett, Dan + Shay, Old Dominion, Ashley McBryde, Luke Combs, LANCO, and more. Check the full list of winners of 2019 on CBS News here.
