“One Man Band” by Old Dominion took home the Song of the Year at the 2020 ACM Awards. While accepting the award the lead vocalist Matthew Ramsay and the rest of the band used the platform to pay tribute to some of their friends who have died.  Ramsay said, "That's a big one. We can hear are friend Andrew who passed away, shouting for us. He must be proud." He further noted that accepting the award in the presence of his late friends was "such an honor".

Although a few thrilled fans congratulated the band on their big win, a few noted that there were other artists and bands that deserved the honor better. One fan wrote, "@OldDominion you guys are so amazingly talented! Congratulations!!" Another added, "It was awesome. Thanks & congrats on the honor for 'One Man Band'. More to come!"
