Will 'Emergence' Episode 12 mark the beginning of the end for Helen and the Splinter in 'Killshot Pt. 2'?
'Emergence' Episode 12, 'Killshot Pt. 1', was full of surprises. It ended with a major cliffhanger giving rise to endless possibilities. Things went from bad to worse as Jo Evans (Allison Tolman) and Ryant Agent Brooks (Enver Gjikaj) landed themselves right in the den of the villain and now, their fate is up in the air.
In the previous episode, Jo and Brooks successfully trace Helen, unaware of the power of their enemy and absolutely underprepared to wage a war. Meanwhile, Piper (Alexa Swinton) enlists Alex's (Donald Faison) help to fulfill the purpose of her existence, by saving Jo and putting an end to the Splinter.
The latter installment of Episode 12, also the series' finale, airs on January 28 on ABC and the official synopsis reads, "Jo and Brooks are in danger, and Piper's determined to help. With Helen's mysterious plan nearly realized, Piper recruits an unexpected team of allies to find them before it's too late."
As the above description clearly establishes, Jo and Brooks are in serious trouble and Piper is possibly the only one who could get them out of it.
However, we can’t overlook her trust in Benny Gallagher (Owain Yeoman), who she feels will join hands with her in protecting mankind and entities of her kind from the perils of Helen's mysterious plan.
The synopsis also states that Piper will recruit an army of her own to fight Helen, which would make for a highly interesting watch.
In Episode 11, Piper gave us a glimpse of her hidden powers when she managed to escape Helen single-handedly. And, Helen herself is well-aware of Piper's abilities, the only reason she's after the little AI.
However, if there's one fact we've learned about Piper all along is her unquestionable intelligence, further driven by a mind of her own. Imagine what could happen when it is multiplied many folds?
The mere thought of Helen fighting an army of AIs built by Piper alone is good enough to keep us on the edge of our seats. There may not be a bloodbath, but the ultimate face-off between two powerful non-humans is guaranteed.
Part 2 of Episode 12 of 'Emergence' airs on January 28 on ABC.
