'A Million Little Things' Season 2 Episode 5 preview: Gary feels insecure as he sees Eric and Maggie get closer
Spoilers ahead from season 2 episode 4 'The Perfect Storm' of 'A Million Little Things'
In the last episode of 'A Million Little Things', Maggie (Allison Miller) discovers Eric's (Jason Ritter) true identity. We were led to believe that Maggie's mother Patricia (Melora Hardin) was dating Eric and left her husband and home for him. But when she told Maggie that Eric has her brother Chad's heart, it was a revelation she wasn't ready for.
For the rest of 'The Perfect Storm', Maggie spent all her energy and time being mad at her mother and not giving her a chance to explain herself. She even has a chat with Eric about having Chad's heart but refuses to give her mother the benefit of doubt. One would imagine that Maggie's profession gives her a deeper understanding of the human psyche.
The promo released for the next week's episode shows this situation slowly going out of control. At the end of the last episode, Gary (James Roday) sees a text by Eric on Maggie's phone telling her that should she need to speak to someone, he is there for her. Which leads him to think that Eric's presence is driving a wedge between them.
In the promo released for this week's episode titled 'Austin', Gary is shown asking Maggie if things between them are alright. Maggie is clearly having some conflicting feelings now that she knows Eric had Chad's heart. The promo shows her visiting Eric in his music shop and breaking down saying, "I'm sorry, I just miss him. I miss him so much."
According to the official synopses for 'Austin', "Delilah makes arrangements for a family photoshoot; Rome and Regina make big plans to celebrate Rome's parents' 50th wedding anniversary; Eddie and Katherine look for a fresh start; Gary feels disconnected from Maggie."
'A Million Little Things' airs Thursdays at 9|8c on ABC.
