‘A masterful job’: ‘The Last of Us’ Episode 7 delves into Ellie and Riley’s past, mesmerizes fans
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Episode 7 of 'The Last of Us' was easily the happiest episode of the season. The episode brought us happiness but ended up in anxiety and worry. The episode takes you back in time with Ellie and Riley and their story, and everything that happened before the former met Joel. It is a perfect episode with great cinematography, great storytelling, and a perfect soundtrack. While Ellie and Riley are running in the abandoned mall with A-ha's 'Take On Me' playing softly in the background seems like the creators just wanted to play with metaphors and poetically narrate to us how Ellie was feeling with Riley at that moment.
While we have many theories about this week's episode, fans are quite sad with how Episode 7 turned out to be and can't help but point out the undeniable chemistry between Ellie and Riley.

'Haven’t cried one bit'
Fans are going gaga over this week's episode and have flooded the internet with minor spoilers and crying over how adorable Ellie and Riley are, "The Last of Us got me again in the end with the tears, but Ellie and Joel, Ellie and Riley their interactions were played so well, they understood the assignment" said a user. "I haven’t cried one bit this season, but this episode broke me into pieces. Give the last of us all the awards" added another. While some fans found it sweet of the love angle between Ellie and Riley, some didn't think they were the right target audience for it, "Accurate to the game, but mostly boring and uninteresting, im not the target demographic for an episode about to teen girls falling in love."

'Not quite as sad'
While some were sad about Riley and Ellie being attacked, some took the critic's way and expected more action, "Pretty strong episode. It has some great moments. But it's hard not to compare it to the game. And the interactivity is probably a big part of why the episode doesn't fully measure up. But by all standards, it's a fantastic episode." Another user bombarded negative reviews with a fact, "Everyone crying about “action” has never heard of character development. This show (and game) is ultimately about the characters, not the infected or the “action”. "Damn good episode but not quite as sad as the previous episodes," added another.
