Ellie in the military school

'The Last Of Us' Season 1 Episode 7 is just 56 minutes long, but it takes you back in time and gives out important details about Ellie's previous life. With only two episodes remaining to conclude the entire season, we think that this episode perfectly wrapped up everything it had to convey about who Ellie is and how everything came to be. This episode will surely be the one to bring the whole season full circle. Episode 7 starts off with the camera panning through houses and a blood trail leading up to one.

We see Ellie and Joel’s horse in a garage, and Ellie is trying to help Joel, who appears to have a deep wound on his stomach and seems to be bleeding out. He tells her to leave him and go to Tommy, who will protect her. She reluctantly gets up, puts a jacket over him, and leaves. Joel cries as she walks away. Later, the audience is transported to Ellie's military school days, where she is running while listening to a song on her walkman. A girl pushes her walkman away and tells her to pick up her pace. When Ellie threatens her, she says you don’t fight, your friend does, referring to Riley, but she isn’t here anymore. Ellie then punches her right in the face and ends up in the Captain’s office.

Five wonders of the mall

Riley visits Ellie late in the night to try and surprise her, but Ellie is surprised, knowing that Riley has joined the fireflies and is training with them. But, after all the drama that ensues, Riley takes Ellie on a tour that will probably be "the best night of her life." Riley takes Ellie to a mall, that apparently has any infected but since then has been sealed off and is now Riley and Ellie's secret place. The five wonders of the mall, of which one is the mall itself, with empty space and shimmer. Then comes the merry-go-round, where Riley and Ellie get on the horses and take off. While everything happens in the background, the audience can feel the palpable chemistry between Ellie and Riley and glance at their budding friendship. The episode will also show the audience how Ellie got bitten, and what circumstances ensued after that.

Episode 7 is worth a watch because of the great storytelling and an even better color palette. 'The Last of Us' is exclusively available on HBO Max.
