In what could be deemed a very deserving win, everybody's favorite series 'Schitt's Creek' won yet another award. Season 6 Episode 14 titled 'Happy Ending', which was written by Daniel Levy won the Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series at the 72nd Emmy Awards. The award was presented by Tracee Ellis Ross in a beautiful golden ensemble.

To be honest, the fight for the awards was quite the ruthless one as each contender was better than the other. And although we had our pick of the lot, we can hardly complain that Levy bagged the award - no one deserved it more.  When accepting the award, Levy got emotional and thanked his father. "Getting to tell the stories has been the greatest, most cathartic experience of my life," he said.

This was the third back-to-back award won by the show - including Outstanding actor by father Eugene Levy who plays Johnny Rose and Outstanding actress by Catherine O'Hara who plays Moira Rose.

The episode was pit against POP TV's 'Schitt's Creek' series finale installment and Season 6, Episode 8 'The Presidential Suite', written by David West Read, the series finale for NBC's 'The Good Place' titled 'Whenever You're Ready' written by Michael Schur, and the first episode of Hulu's 'The Great' titled 'The Great' episode written by Tony McNamara. FX's 'What We Do In The Shadows' was also running in the race for winning the Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series with the Season 2, Episode 8 'Collaboration' (written by Sam Johnson and Chris Marcil), Season 2, Episode 2 'Ghosts' by Paul Simms, and Season 2, Episode 6 'On the Run' written by Stefani Robinson.

'Schitt's Creek' was the big winner tonight taking home seven awards. The series' final season also won Outstanding Comedy Series. For their roles, Eugene Levy, who plays the role of the patriarch of the Rose family Johnny Rose, won Outstanding Lead Comedic Actor, Catherine O'Hara, who plays Moira Rose, won Outstanding Lead Comedic Actress. Levy, who plays the role of David Rose, also won Outstanding Supporting Comedic Actor and Annie Murphy won Outstanding Supporting Comedic Actress for her role of Alexis Rose.

Levy also won the award Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series with Andrew Cividino. Following every win, he thanked his father, real-life sister Sarah Levy who plays the role of Twyla Sands on the show and the rest of the cast and crew. If there is any show in the comedy genre that deserved this level of recognition, it is undoubtedly 'Schitt's Creek'.
