It's worth noting that Morrone was married to popular designer Rouba Saadeh in 2014, but parted ways with her in 2018. They have two sons, Marcudo and Brado Morrone.
That said, while the sequel appears to have garnered mixed reviews at the time of publication, the original '365 Days' was based on a Polish book by author Blanka Lipinska. The plot followed a woman who fell in love with her captor and a steamy affair ensued. According to Newsweek, the synopsis of Lipinska's book is yet to be formally translated into English. Nonetheless, a preliminary translation reads:
Laura, together with her boyfriend Martin and two friends, go on holiday to Sicily. On the second day of her stay, on her twenty-ninth birthday, the girl is kidnapped. The kidnapper turns out to be the head of the Sicilian mafia family, the extremely handsome young Don Massimo Toricelli. A few years ago, he had an attempt on his life. Shot several times, he almost died - and when his heart stopped beating, he saw a girl in front of his eyes; Laura Biel. When he was brought back to life, he promised himself that he would find the woman he saw. Massimo gives the girl 365 days to make her love him and stay with him.
Following the original release in 2020, '365 Days' was labeled as soft porn and more than 75,000 people signed a petition to remove the film from Netflix. However, the streaming giant refused to take it down and issued a statement in response to the petition. βWe believe strongly in giving our members around the world more choice and control over their Netflix viewing experience," the statement read. "Members can choose what they do and do not want to watch by setting maturity filters at a profile level and removing specific titles to protect from the content they feel is too mature.β
