The last day of 2020 is super special for the BTS army as they are getting a lot from the Grammy-nominated band. Along with a series of performances on the Weverse presented 2021 ‘New Year Eve’s Live’, BTS and their longtime friend, pop queen Halsey, will have a virtual reunion as the ‘Without Me’ singer will also ramp up the Big Hit’s concert. Prior to their much-anticipated performance, here’s a timeline recount of the beautiful friendship that Grammy-nominated K-pop group shares with the Grammy-nominated singer.
 
BTS and Halsey have always been vocal about their friendship and admiration for each other. The Billboard Hot 100 topper singer collaborated with BTS on the ‘Map of the Soul:7’ song "Boy With Luv" which broke quite a few records - garnering the highest views on YouTube in 24 hours, 74.6 million views to be exact within its first day of release. Later, on June 24, 2019, Billboard also announced that the track had been certified Platinum by the RIAA.

Halsey appreciating BTS in Cosmopolitan interview

After "Boy with Luv" crossed the 1 billion view mark on YouTube, Halsey spoke about her friendship with BTS to Cosmopolitan saying how they always congratulate each other when something great happens. "It’s kind of bittersweet that we’re off and can’t see each other because of the restrictions on travel right now, but they’re the best. I would work with them again one hundred thousand times," the 26-year-old ‘Closer’ singer said. She added how their friendship flows like a natural rapport, stating, "Someone else would maybe focus on the language barrier, but there isn’t much of one when we’re spending time together. We just have a very natural rapport."

Another time, Halsey talked about BTS on Ellen sharing how much the boys helped her with learning the choreography. She said ‘half’ the BTS were nice to her and the other half loved to tease her. “Yeah. The other ones were like…” mimicking the "Boy With Luv” move saying, “And I was yeah, I know that’s what I look like, thank you. Sorry we can’t all be perfect.”

The Gifts exchange 

Friendship bracelet

Halsey and BTS never miss a chance to exchange gifts. Halsey gifted BTS “best friends for life” pink diamond friendship bracelets before their BBMAs 2019 performance. BTS wore the bracelet and took to Twitter to share videos of it. Later in the Bangtan bomb, the BTS army saw how ecstatic BTS were receiving the thoughtful gift.

Matching Mic

BTS also surprised Halsey by gifting her matching glittery mic on their 2019 IheartRadio Jingle Bell performance. Halsey shared, “So the first time we ever performed “Boy With Luv” together, I was making a joke that they have sparkly microphones and I felt left out.” She added, “They gifted me my own sparkly mic. And it was really thoughtful and really amazing that I got to use it!”
