Why did Amy Slaton drop domestic violence charges against Michael Halterman?
Amy seems to be taking a step back from all the hustle created in the divorce drama between her and ex Michael. The Sun reported the mother of two along with her estranged husband visited the Kentucky courtroom, presided by Judge Brandi Rogers on May 3. According to the report, Amy was pulled out of the courtroom to talk privately. She returned to the room after almost 20 minutes to talk to her lawyer. After the little chit-chat, Amy was called to the stand where she chose to withdraw the domestic violence charge against Michael. This whole took place after Michael conferred with his lawyer in hushed voices. Indeed, there might be some deal made between Amy and Michale that led to the '1000-lb Sisters' star to withdraw the charges. However, whatever the conversation happened between the lawyers and the estranged couple was not revealed to the public.
Amy Slaton will file a separate civil restraining order
Besides all the charges pressed against Michael, Amy will also be filing a civil restraining order in their ongoing divorce case. Amy and Michael are still not permitted to contact outside of their contract. They are allowed to communicate over parenting through texts. Moreover, Michael can visit children in the presence of a third party. Amy has got the duty to take care of the children on weekdays while Michael is responsible for the weekends. However, Michael is now looking forward to having full custody of the children and taking care of them as many days as Amy. He proposed taking care of the children four days a week with three days following the next week. Disagreeing with it, Amy dismissed the proposal.
Will divorce drama be part of '1000-lb Sisters' Season 5?
It seems so! According to the reports, there were crew members present when Amy along with her friends and family visited the court. After the hearing, Amy, Amanda, and Chris waited outside the courthouse to film a scene while they shared a cigarette with each other. However, Chris avoided the camera and went to a corner to smoke the cigarette all by himself. Since it's clear with the camera present that the '1000-lb Sisters' stars were filming the divorce drama, it is obvious that the storyline will be presented in the upcoming season.
