A person slammed Amy for playing the 'single-mom' card to gain sympathy and said, "Wow! Amy’s kids deserve better." One Redditor said, "I honestly think she’s trying to get a new story line as “a single mom”. I also feel like she used him. He is clearly not all there mentally. She used him for what she needed. To haul Tammy around and to give her the kids she’s always wanted. Now he is no longer needed, she gets a storyline and she gets sympathy for being a single mom."

Another added, "I wonder if she is just feeling herself and wants to upgrade?" Another person chimed in, "I wonder if TLC will make her change her bio. I'd look out to see if or when the 'single mom' detail goes away. Or is there even another season confirmed yet? If there is then there's a chance that she can't share much on her relationship status."

With rumors of physical abuse making the rounds, fans were understandably worried about the safety of the children. Michael Halterman accused of 'physically disciplining' children
