Michael Halterman 'did not want divorce' from Amy Slaton
According to a dispatch report obtained by The Sun, Amy and Michael got into a heated feud on February 24, 2023. This argument was so explosive that the police were called in. As per the dispatch report obtained, neither Amy nor Michael was under the influence of drugs or alcohol during their feud when the police officers arrived at the scene, at around 2.30 pm. The responding officer claimed that the couple was arguing over the split.
According to the report, it was stated back then, "Amy wants to separate, but the male doesn't want to." This indeed made it very clear that Michael was allegedly not the one who brought the divorce discussion into the marriage. Things went south for the couple when Michael became "violent" and started "throwing things" during their feud while their children Gage and Glenn were present in the home. Neither Amy nor Michael was arrested from the scene on the day of the altercation.
Why did Amy Slaton decide to get a divorce?
The fights between Amy and Michael were not a new thing. When the news of the split broke out in February, there were reports that the couple has been involved in secret arguments for months. The main source of tension between the couple was their children. Amy wanted them to continue appearing on television and Michael wanted the opposite. Moreover, there were also reports that Amy and her family considered Michael "lazy" and claimed him to be "jealous" of all the attention she gave to the children.
The feud had been going on for eight months before the divorce filing. And in these eight months, Amy struggled emotionally while taking care of Glenn and Gage all alone. Eventually, divorce became the only option for Amy to get past the unnecessary drama of the marriage.
Michael filed for divorce on March 13, 2023.
