Zac Stacy blasted for claiming ex Kristin Evans 'staged' brutal attack to 'set him up'
Former NFL running back Zac Stacy was slammed after a new video surfaced that shows him telling the police that his ex-girlfriend Kristin Evans "staged" her own brutal beating and caught it on camera. He added that she did it because she was "bitter" that he wasn't interested in dating her anymore.
Stacy was seen in a video pinning the blame on his ex for the November 13 attack that occurred in Florida. The 30-year-old athlete was responding to questions by the Orlando Police Department about what led to the attack after he was charged with aggravated assault (great bodily harm) and criminal mischief (greater than or equal to $1,000), both of which are felony counts.

"It's just a case of just bitterness, man," Stacy told an officer in the video. "That's why she did this. The whole assault thing, she staged it. She set me up. The whole thing was staged. All she's trying to do is get money out of me. She got a reaction out of me." Stacy alleged that Evans knew he was dealing with anxiety and depression. He also accused her of cheating on him with his financial adviser and that he was upset when she was caught. "She knew I was trying to close this gap that's between me and my son, and she's just upset that she got caught, and she's upset I'm not taking care of him like she expected," Stacy continued. "And now she took it this far. This is just a case of just girl is just bitter that I don't want to be with her, and she's just trying to destroy my whole reputation 'cause of this s–t."
Evans, who is also the mother of Stacy's five-month-old son, responded to his claim that she staged the attack. "I don't know how you can stage getting your ass beat," Evans responded. "This is what abusers do. They will make you seem like you're the crazy one and that they're the victim."
Stacy, who faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted, was excoriated on social media for his claim that the attack was "staged." One Twitter user wrote, "Look at Zac Stacy saying his son’s mother staged him beating her and throwing her around. Wow. What a complete narcissist. She made me do it, officer." Another tweeted, "How tf Zac Stacy say his ex staged his attack on her? Wouldn’t that mean he was in on it? WHAT A STUPID A**"
"How Zac Stacy Gon Tell Us That Girl Staged BEING THROWN INTO THE TV THT DAMN HARD!?" a comment read. One tweet called Stacy a "demon," stating, "Zac Stacy is a whole demon. So she staged herself flying through that television? Ni**a just go to jail quietly". Someone else added, "Btw, that piece of s*** Zac Stacy wants us to believe his baby's mother staged that whole video of him throwing her body into walls, furniture, and the TV like he was in a Kung-fu movie."

Stacy, a seasoned NFL running back, appeared to brutally assault Evans in an incident at their home. Video footage showed the athlete throwing his girlfriend into a television stand and hitting her repeatedly. Evans, a massage therapist, was heard begging for Stacy to stop as their son watched the beating while seated on a couch.
