'Looks like Lord Farquaad on steroids': Internet compares Zac Efron's new hairdo with 'Shrek' villain

 LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Zac Efron is busy shooting for his upcoming 2023 movie 'The Iron Claw', and he has been surprising fans with his buffed look on Instagram. However, a new leaked image of the 35-year-old actor, who will play a professional wrestler in the film, has left his fans baffled. Many compared the actor's look to the 'Shrek' villain Lord Farquaad.

In the image, the 'High School Musical' star is seen sporting a tight grey cut-off crew neck top, frayed denim shorts, and, most noticeably, a brown wig with short bangs and waves that extended beyond his ears. Fans couldn't stop noticing how close Efron's appearance was to that of Farquaad, specifically the short, black hair with bangs.

After Efron's image from the set went viral, fans on Twitter drew comparisons with that of Lord Farquaad from the animated film 'Shrek'. One fan wrote, "Literally looks like lord farquaad on steroids," one fan wrote while another added, "He looks like if lord farquaad hit the weight room."

A third fan with regard to Efron's resemblance to a modern-day Farquaad wrote, "Lord Farquaad but make it the 21st century," and a fourth fan chimed in, "I see lord farquaad has been working out 👀😭." This other fan referring Efron to Farquaad's lost brother wrote, "Not zac efron becoming lord farquaad's lost brother 😭."

Another admirer who compared Farquaad to an '80s fitness instructor wrote, "Zac Efron looks like if Lord Farquaad was an '80s fitness coach." One user added, "Why does zac efron look like lord farquaad."

Another fan remarked, "I can't leave Twitter because then I wouldn't see that 'Lord Farquaad' is trending and then I wouldn’t click on it to see why and then I wouldn’t see that it is because of Zac Efron's new hairdo."

'The Iron Claw', written and directed by Sean Durkin, who directed 'Martha Marcy May Marlene', will see Kevin Von Erich play a professional wrestler. Lily James, Maura Tierney, Jeremy Allen White, and Harris Dickinson are also featured in this movie.
