LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a social media tiff between former 'Jackass' stars Steve-O and Bam Margera, the former begged his friend to recover from addiction for his young son Phoenix and warned that he is preparing for his death. Margera's rant on Instagram allegedly under the influence received Steve-O's now-deleted response referring to his son saying, “Bam, last night you had your five-year-old son with you on stage at my show, and you were blessed with the chance to spend another day or two with him — then as soon as you left my show, you stayed up all night getting loaded enough to think it was a good idea to post more vile nonsense like this,”

“You say you want to have a relationship with your son, but your actions guarantee the exact opposite will happen. I brought you on tour with me in hopes that I could get you to see what’s possible for you if you choose recovery,” continued Steve-O who has been on sobriety for almost 15 years.

Bam Margera FOUND: 'Jackass' star escaped facility due to lack of 'celebrity care'

Why is Bam Margera suing Johnny Knoxville? 'Jackass' creator alleges 'psychological torture'

What happened to Bam Margera?

Margera's long battle against drug and alcohol issues has gone to the extent of shocking his fans even with rumored news of him being pronounced dead. In 2018, after he was arrested for a DUI, he was sent to rehab. Since that time, the 43-year-old has been in and out of rehab. In September 2022, Margera went missing from a rehab facility after he was sent to court-ordered rehab. Shortly after his missing, Margera was found partying and was admitted to an outpatient program. However, he went back to consuming alcohol days after getting out of the facility as he was spotted at a Florida bar.

In a recent rant on social media, Margera called Johny Knoxville a "thief" and termed Jeff Tremaine "greedy." Tremaine and Knoxville fired him from the 'Jackass Forever' film as Margera failed to stay sober. Following this incident in connection to the 2022 film, a fallout took place among the friends as Margera filed a lawsuit against them for wrongful termination. However, it was dismissed and the case was later settled outside of court, according to New York Post.

Responding to Margera's rant, Steve-O shared his emotional comment conveying that he tried everything to help his friend to get clean and said that he knows no one can force him “to get honest and do the work of recovery.”

“I wish you could know how much I’ve hated feeling braced for news of your death, but you’re making it clear that I have no other choice. You’re dying, brother, and it sucks that I can’t do anything to save you," he concluded. The 'Wild Ride' host is on his comedy world tour, the XXX-rated 'Bucket List' with its special guest Margera.

'This is terrible to read'

After Steve-O publicly begged his friend to get "sober" while preparing for news of his death, social media rushed to join him in expressing their concern. One Twitter user wrote, "Poor Steve O is really trying. I saw a clip from his tour where he told Bam, 'I'm afraid you're going to die.' Sadly you can't help someone who doesn't want it. It's heartbreaking all around, especially for Bam's kid," while another wrote, "Wow, yeah man Bam has been struggling for years. Steve-O is totally right for this."

"Yeah, I appreciate his effort, but I saw this coming when I have seen him go on tour," one user wrote and someone tweeted, "Man that’s sad to see. I hope he can get it together."

"Seeing Bam spiral has been so sad. I've heard stories about everyone trying so hard to help him out of it and he just.. Can't yet. I hope things turn around before it's too late," a user opined while another wrote, "No one talks to an addict like another addict. Only we truly know what’s required in recovery and the honesty one needs to make a true path to sobriety."

"This is terrible to read. Bam Margera has had so many chances to turn his life around yet continues to fall down the downward spiral. He has hit bottom after bottom and won't choose recovery. So sad to read," a user remarked and someone wrote, "Addiction sucks. The disease lets you hear how much you’re hurting your loved ones, but it doesn’t let you stop, no matter how much they tell you and how guilty you feel. I hope bam finds his breakthrough and recovery, Steve-O is a real one for being so open with him publicly."
