Atlanta legend Andre 3000 is one of the most respected hip-hop artists of his time and even an inspiration for the new generation of rappers. However, the case might be different for Young Thug, who also hails from the same city. The 29-year-old rapper recently took a dig at Andre 3000 saying he can’t name two songs of Andre adding that he has never paid attention to the hip-hop icon.

Young Thug was recently called as a guest on rapper TI’s talk show called Expedtiously Podcast where the former made pretty clear what he feels for Andre 3000 while explaining why he and Andre don’t have records together. During the interview, he asserted, as published by XXL Magazine, “I can't rap you two Andre 3000 songs. I ain't never paid attention to him, never in my life.” When TI stated that Thug has worked with Elton John despite dismissing him, the American rapper then clarified the difference and said, “Elton John like to kiss a**, Andre like his a** kissed.”

Young Thug’s statement did not go well with the social media users where a majority of them slammed him for his quote. One user posted, “I better not see yalls Andre 3000 slander here. Pink Matter is one of his best solo verses and it still is miles behind his work with OutKast.” One said, “Andre 3000 trending because someone decided they wanted to try and diss him. Bold of you to think you can diss the man who among many other things, made Class of 3000.” Another added, “Andre 3000 so humble and nice he probably would still bless Young Thug with a feature if he asked for it.” One individual posted, “Never listening to a Young Thug song again, hate to see the bars go but I draw the line with Andre 3000 slander.” One expressed, “I will not tolerate anyone dissing Andre 3000 like that. Especially someone who was clearly inspired by him.”

Interestingly, when TI tried to explain the status Andre 3000 holds in hip-hop and he is someone who should be respected, Young Thug simply disagreed with the statement saying, “Nope.”

According to HipHopDX, Andre 3000, who is part of the legendary group Outkast, was very complimentary of Thug’s approach to Hip Hop back in 2017. He had earlier told Complex, “He’s exciting. There’s no box. He’s all over the place. To do those things he does, you have to have big f**kin’ balls. It’s almost harder than the guy who’s portraying hard, you know? It’s kind of mind-f**king people. It’s saying, ‘Don’t get too comfortable with me.’ That’s one of my mottos: Don’t let people get too comfortable with what you’re doing.”
