'Young Sheldon' is back with the fourth installment, and this time, we're going to see the boy genius (Iain Armitage) head to college. However, he is having a bit of a meltdown because he realises that no one is going to be able to watch out for him there. At first, Sheldon can't find his goggles. His panic gets worse when his friend Tam makes new friends, which makes him worry that he won't be missed either. This leads to a meltdown on television, when a news reporter comes to interview him. Nevertheless, he comes to grips with the situation and delivers an emotional validictorian speech, quoting his sister Missy (Raegan Revord) This has made the fans duly teary eyed, but that's not what they're talking about on social media. It's Dale, and his strangely nice behaviour.

Meanwhile, Dale (Craig T Nelson) seems to be overtly nice, which is making fans rather suspicious. While many don't want him to be with Meemaw (Annie Potts), Sheldon's grandmother, others are wondering what on earth is up with him. "I want Meemaw with Dr. Sturgis not Dale," a fan wrote.

"#YoungSheldon I'm starting to think Dale is sick and that's why he's being nice to everyone and not drinking," a fan tweeted.

"Dale planning on going to church and bible study? Wow. Hope he keeps it up and this isn’t a phase. @YoungSheldon. #YoungSheldon," another wrote.

"What’s up with Dale?" another asked.

At the end of the episode, we even got a reference to the mothership series, 'The Big Bang Theory'. “Adult Sheldon is not alone in his narration at the end of the episode,” series co-creator Steve Molaro told TVLinel. “It’s a fun, unexpected continuation of the Big Bang Theory storyline.” The latest BBT Easter egg comes just before Sheldon’s high school commencement ceremony which leads to much stress for the young child prodigy. “Sheldon has been striving to [advance] for several years now, and it’s a little bit of ‘be careful what you wish for,'” Molaro said. “Sheldon finally is getting to go to college, and the reality of that, and what it means for his life, starts to dawn on him.”

'Young Sheldon' airs on CBS Thursdays at 8 pm.
