Spoilers for 'Yellowstone' Season 3 Episode 9 'Meaner than Evil'

Yellowstone is a piece of land that is not only full of riches but is full of secrets - secrets that strongly conserved as just that and any threat, any possibility of these secrets being exposed is considered and taken care of.

Usually, John Dutton (Kevin Costner) makes Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), his right hand and closest working aide (and now soon-to-be son-in-law) to take care of matters pertaining to these secrets. Before Rip completely took over, it is evident that it was Lloyd Pierce (Forrie J. Smith) who actually did the gig. Taking people to the train station is a very important task that no one takes lightly.

In the previous episode when Rip and Lloyd discover that Walker is actually alive - making this discovery out of nowhere! - and that Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) never really took him to the train station, they immediately take the reigns in their hands.

As he is leaving the bar he was singing in, Rip and Lloyd catch Walker unawares, quickly kidnap him and take him back to the ranch.

At the ranch, Rip confronts Kayce about his discrepancies and lies. Kayce tells him that he won't murder a man - he might have killed many a man in his line of work, but he never murdered anyone, and that he won't do it now either.

So the two then spark a deal with Walker - his life will be spared if he agrees to return to the ranch. There are no ways about it, and Walker is really the one benefitting. As it turns out, Walker was back in the state because he's on parole and needs to report to the police station every few months.

When Walker reluctantly agrees, he must pass a test or two to further cement his allegiance.

And so after Wade Morrow (Boots Southerland) is captured, it is Walker who is tasked with skinning John Dutton's Yellowstone brand off of his chest. Even later, when the bodies need to be disposed off to the train station, it is Walker who is to accompany Lloyd to throw the bodies off the cliff. It is also revealed that the reason this is the designated spot is that no one lives around for 100 miles and the district has no jurisdiction.

Rip kidnapped Walker back to the ranch. But we hope that this does not prove to be one of those decisions that he will regret.
