Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith have time and again grabbed headlines over their tumultuous relationship and the bond Jada shared with her late high-school friend and acclaimed rapper Tupac Shakur. In his self-titled memoir, Will has shed light on how jealous he was of the late rapper and how badly he wanted Jada to look at him the way she did at Tupac because he was more manly.

The 53-year-old actor was recently in news too when Jada had dropped a hint that the ‘I Robot’ star might not be good in bed. Will Smith and Jada both have earlier confessed of extra-marital affairs as the former said their marriage could not be a prison. Social media users, who now seemed irritated with their stories, claimed that they were tired of their “sorry a** relationship” stories, adding that it was high time they parted their ways. For the unversed, Will and Jada tied the knot in 1997.

Was Will Smith jealous of Tupac?

Revealing in his memoir about “raging jealousy” towards Tupac, the actor wrote, “Though they were never intimate, their love for each other is legendary, they defined ‘ride or die’”. ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ star continued, “In the beginning of our relationship, my mind was tortured by their connection. He was PAC! and I was me. He triggered the perception of myself as a coward. I hated that I wasn’t what he was in the world, and I suffered a raging jealousy. I wanted Jada to look at me like that.”

Will added that he felt a “twisted kind of victory” when Jada ended up with him instead of Pac. “If she chose me over Tupac, there was no way I could be a coward.” He further asserted, “I have rarely felt more validated… I was in a room with Tupac on multiple occasions, but I never spoke to him. The way Jada loved Pac rendered me incapable of being friends with him. I was too immature”, as reported by Daily Mail. This is not the first when Will spoke about his jealousy towards the late rap icon.  During an interview with The Breakfast Club in 2020, Will openly confessed how jealous he was of Tupac. “Oh, f**k yeah. Oh my god, that dude. And you know that was in the early days, too. That was a big regret for me because I could never open up to interact with Pac.” He added, “We had a little bit of a thing because they grew up together and they loved each other but they never had a sexual relationship. But then come into that age where now that was a possibility, and Jada was with me, so Pac had a little thing on that. But she just loved him, he was the image of perfection but she was with the Fresh Prince.”

‘Will and Jada are in cahoots to make sure Tupac never rests in peace’

Reacting to Will Smith’s latest confession, one user asked, “Can they stop telling us about their business?” Another said, “These stories bout to make me stop watching any movie this man is in.” One user suggested, “These two should just go their separate ways now and pursuit happiness.”

The next one tweeted, “Will loves Jada too much but unfortunately for him, she does not rate Will like that.” Another seemed irritated and said, “I’m starting to lose respect for big homie at this point.” Meanwhile, one person trolled the actor saying, “Pac's been dead for a quarter century and Will's still breaking plates.” One added, “I truly believe Will and Jada are in cahoots to make sure Tupac never rests in peace”, as another concluded, “Lord knows I’m tired of seeing will and jada and their sorry a** relationship on this bird app.”
