Will Henry Cavill appear in ‘Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’? Dunk actor clarifies major theory
Although 'Game of Thrones' fans all across the globe would have loved to see Henry Cavill appear in a future episode of 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms', that won't, unfortunately, come to pass. Peter Claffey recently dismissed the rumors that had been running wild in the recent past, confirming that the 'Man of Steel' star wouldn't be a part of the 'GoT' franchise in the days to come. The rumours began when footage of Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell speaking in an interview at the New York Comic Con started circulating (Timestamp: 13:20).
Speaking from New York Comic Con, Claffey discussed the similarities between his portrayal of Ser Duncan the Tall in the 'GoT' spinoff and Cavill's performance as Geralt of Rivia in 'The Witcher' franchise. Despite making the comparison himself, Claffey added that he felt his own performance was a bit less glamorous and more stupid than Cavill's. The interviewers quickly latched onto the duo after Sol Ansell was caught saying, 'Can we say that Henry Cavill...' Claffey immediately cut him short, jumping in to say, 'No, no, no. God, don’t say that. Sorry, you didn’t hear that.' Consequently, it was only a matter of time before the internet exploded with wild theories hinting at Cavill's place in the fantasy drama franchise.
Peter Claffey (Dunk) clarifies that Henry Cavill will not be joining the Game of Thrones universe after online speculation:

It wasn't long before Claffey himself addressed the rumours. Taking to his Instagram page, Claffey explained that although he wished Cavill were in the show with him, it just wasn't possible at the moment. The explanation reads, "Just to clarify, the thing Dex was referring to in the interview had nothing to do with Henry Cavill coming into the show or the GOT universe (I wish!) Complete misunderstanding. Hope everyone enjoys the Trial of the Seven."

Even though Cavill won't be seen on 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms', the prequel show packs quite a few punches itself and has a lot to offer. The events of the show take place ninety years before 'Game of Thrones' and are based on the 'Dunk and Egg' novella series written by George R. R. Martin in general and the novella 'The Hedge Knight' in particular. The plot follows Dunk and Egg making their way through Westeros, and the recently aired fifth episode of the show took things to the next dramatic threshold with Dunk emerging victorious in the Trial of Seven.
Tragedy soon followed as Prince Baelor Targaryen was accidentally slain. The episodes are markedly different from the hour-long format that 'GoT' fans are accustomed to, and instead last half an hour. The upcoming sixth episode is slated to be the debut season's finale and airs on Sunday, February 22. The HBO show has been renewed for a second season, which is speculated to arrive sometime in 2027.
