It was a family special episode on 'Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks' where each of the fishermen's families joined them to get a closer look at how they catch the tunas, what's the process of it all. They not only indulged in the fun bit of it but also learned the tricks of the trade, which are hard to find online or in books. In a nutshell, it was a novel experience. It was not only a new and interesting episode for those on the show but also the fans, who couldn't stop themselves from sharing childhood memories of them going out to fishing with family members.

"I only fished from the shore with my father. Mom wouldn't let me or my brother on a boat. When Wicked Tuna started, my elderly father began watching it," a fan commented on the show's official Facebook page and added that she didn't start watching the show until a few years later when her father got sick and bedridden. "I didn't join him until a few years later when he became very sick and mostly bedridden," she wroted and added: "He's been gone 4 years now, but I'm still watching because I've grown to love the show and I do think he's still watching with me."

In the same thread, another shared how he learned the skill from his father and is now passing it down to his children. "learned from my dad .... taught both my sons....letting it roll," he commented.

Another expressed that she would really love to go out fishing on the Hot Tuna boat that is captained by TJ Ott. "I REALLY REALLY REALLY have "a trip with the Hot Tuna blue fin fishing boat" on my Bucket List! Really wish I got go out with then for a few days....**sigh**if only," she posted, while another cheered for Rasta Rocket: "The guys in the little boat in my opinion are the best and bravest of the southern fleet hands down."
