FLORIDA, UNITED STATES: Jazz Jennings was only five years old when her parents initiated the process of transitioning her from male to female. 'I am Jazz': Jazz Jennings has a seemingly toxic family, for more reasons than one

Why does Jazz Jennings regret her childhood transition?

Jazz raised concern over her transition during 'I am Jazz' Season 8. Jazz shared with her mother that she felt completely broken and unable to be her authentic self. Jazz further explained to her mother that she continues to go 'back to negative' and that she 'can't get out of her head.' Jazz also noted, "It just doesn’t stop." While Jeanette tried to reassure her that everything is going to be fine, Jazz revealed a heartbreaking truth. During the conversation with her mom, Jazz revealed, "I just want to feel like myself, like that's it. I don't care." She added, "All I want is to be happy and feel like me, and I don’t feel like me, ever." Jazz then burst into tears and told her mom, "I don't feel like me, ever!"

Did Jeanette force Jazz Jennings to transition?

During the episode, Jeanette seemingly discourages Jazz from focusing on soul-searching. She said, "The more you’re talking about yourself, it gets harder. You’re digging in and it’s making you put a magnifying glass on what’s already difficult as it is." Jeanette added, "So this is hard for you, I know. And we don’t want to push it." However, Jeanette has always tried to be a supportive mother but always seemingly ended up pressuring Jazz. Jeanette pressured Jazz in another scene to dilate her 'neovagina' daily.

Notably, social media followers couldn't disagree that Jeanette has forced Jazz to be transgender. A social media user tweeted, "Maybe the mom is Jazz’s worst enemy." Another user said, "If grown adults want to go through this process and make that decision….that’s one thing, but allowing your child to be put through this process before they even have the maturity to make that decision….it’s heartbreaking." Yet another user added, "Imagine if that mother acted like an adult and just told her son years ago that it's ok to be gay, to act like you want, dress like you want, be yourself as is."

A fourth user slammed Jeanette, saying, "Your mother sealed your fate when you were 5 years old, she wanted a girl and got a boy so she fixed it. If you wanted to transition she should have let you become an adult at least till 25 yo to make your own plan for your life. Pray 🙏 you can find peace." One user added, "The abusive controlling mother who had surgery & hormones forced on to a child is his worst enemy." Another commented, "The sad thing is that this really shows the mother's constant manipulation as she is not listening but instead trying to steer her child's feelings."
