ATLANTA, GEORGIA: In a shocking twist of events 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' alum and model Eva Marcille has filed for divorce from her husband Michael Sterling. The couple has called it quits after four years of marriage. According to documents obtained by Us Weekly, the 'RHOA' star, 38, filed the paperwork in Fulton County, Georgia, on March 23. The documents show that the estranged couple, who married in October 2018, are currently separated.
Marcille and Sterling began dating in 2016 and married after some years. The 'America’s Next Top Model' alum was always gushing about her husband sharing cute photos on Instagram, so this divorce has blindsided the fans of the Bravo celebrity.

Why did Eva Marcille file for divorce?
The 'RHOA' alum has sought to legally end her marriage after recently celebrating her love for her husband last month on Valentine's day. "Happy Valentine's Day @miketsterling #US," Marcille posted a two-slide Instagram slideshow that included a lovely selfie of the couple as well as an adorable video of them dancing together. So nobody was expecting this divorce as it came out of nowhere.
In the paperwork filed, Marcille stated that their relationship is "irretrievably broken," and "there are no prospects for reconciliation." In a statement to People, the reality star claimed this was the "hardest decision" and said, "This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, but sometimes life takes your journey in a direction you were not expecting.”

Who will get custody of Eva Marcille and Michael Sterling's kids?
Marcille and Sterling, a trial lawyer, have two sons Michael "Mikey" Jr and Maverick. Marcille also has a daughter named Marley, whose biological father is Kevin McCall, but Sterling raised her as his own and gave her his surname in 2020. The reality star is seeking both legal and primary custody of the children, as well as child support.
She is requesting "an equitable division of all marital assets" and insists Sterling should contribute to their children's expenses, such as medical and dental expenses. Marcille has also shared in her statement with People, "Our children remain our biggest priority, and the eight and half years we have spent together will always be cherished. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
