If you are a fan of epic action movies, then the Russo Brothers have something special coming up for you. Their upcoming movie ‘The Gray Man’ is one of the highly anticipated movies of the years and features some of the coolest action sequences. The movie sees Ryan Gosling playing a CIA Black Ops mercenary known as Court Gentry who gets to know that the organization he is working for is holding back a lot of dark secrets and as soon as he got to know about them, the entire CIA turns against him. They call his former psychopathic colleague Lloyd Hansen to catch him and chaos ensues after that.

The trailers have made us realize that it’s going to be an action extravaganza. However, it hasn’t been an easy ride for Joe and Anthony Russo in making the aforementioned flick because they had been working on it for almost nine years what was the reason? Well, their busy work schedule. In recent years, the Russo Brothers have been responsible for giving stupendous superhero movies such as ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, and ‘Avengers: Endgame’. All of the aforementioned movies took a lot of time to come to the screens and maybe that was the reason why ‘The Gray Man’ had to wait for so long.

Speaking about the movie, the duo told Netflix that it took them “nine years” to bring ‘The Gray Man’ to the viewers because of their hectic work schedule. However, they never let it go because of how impressed they were with the way Mark Greaney wrote the script of the action thriller. They also noted that the movie is heavily inspired by the “70s thrillers” that they grew up on.

“It took nine years to make this film because of our busy schedule. We were in awe of Mark Greaney’s writing and the amount of research he does. We are always on a quest to develop interesting sideways to a genre. Having been inspired by the 70s thrillers that we grew up on, The Gray Man encompasses the themes of a very complex political and rebelling against the system, and we have reflected on our own fears about the world,” said Russo Brothers.

The filmmakers wanted to create a world that people would be “immersed” in and praised the cast of the movie for their dedication.

The Russo Brothers previously made it clear that they approached ‘The Gray Man’ with the vision of a “narrative universe” that could spawn spin-off shows and a wide range of movies. In an interview with Screen Rant, Anthony Russo noted, “It's in our DNA now from our work at Marvel. So most things we do here we think about as a narrative universe. Certainly, that's how we approach 'The Gray Man'.”
