LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The latest episode of ‘Jeopardy!’ on Monday, May 15, has given its fans a cut-throat faceoff between two reigning winners with the comeback of Ben Chan. The three-day champ Ben Chan, who left his streak in April due to mild Covid-19, has returned to the show and dethroned Hannah Wilson, a consecutive eight-day winning streak master. Sadly, her intimidating winning streak is over now.

Ben Chan, a philosophy professor at St Norbert College from Green Bay, Wisconsin, dominated the game for three days back in April. However, due to his illness, he left the streak. On the other hand, Hannah Wilson, a data scientist from Chicago, has reigned her power over the game with 8-day back-to-back winnings until today’s episode. The two impressively stunning winners’ have left their fans awestruck and stunned after Ben ‘wiped the floor’ smoothly with $41K.

Ben Chan’s return to ‘Jeopardy!’

Hannah entered the game with a successful 8-day winning total of $229,801, while Ben returned with a three-day total of $69,001. Monday’s ‘Jeopardy!' broadcast has caused its viewers to take Daily-Double because what happened in today’s episode is rarely seen. Since the early 2000s, only four episodes marked the return of two champions in one game. Likewise, tonight’s episode marked the comeback of two champions, as addressed by ‘Jeopardy!’ host Mayim Bialik, “As you heard Johnny Gilbert announce, we have returning co-champions in today’s game. Our eight-time winner from Friday, Hannah Wilson and our 3-day champion from earlier this season, Ben Chan. Ben wasn’t able to travel for our tapings in mid-April but he is back to defend against Hannah and Wendy."

Ben Chan and Hannah Wilson in Tournament of Champions

After breaking his streak in April due to illness, Ben Chan has made a flashing comeback by not only defeating Hannah but also scoring his fourth straight runaway. Perhaps, he has lived up to his fanfare after winning today’s episode. Ben smirked as he got 19 clues correct and all three Daily Doubles (the second for $7K and the third for $3K) by Final Jeopardy. Well, Hannah did sail into the game all of May until she met her match and couldn’t catch up to him. Three contestants, Ben, Hannah, and Wendy, competed against each other, with Ben having $41K, Hannah $6,800, and Wendy $4,400. The Final Jeopardy under Publications stated, "The co-founder of this magazine that began in 1967 said its name comes primarily from a song title but noted a band name as well." All three contestants gave the correct answer with Rolling Stone, and Ben added a whopping $19K to win $60k for a four-day total of $129,001. Well, Ben and Hannah, who hold their grounds till the end, will now be in the next Tournament of Champions. And, of course, Ben will continue to play his fifth win in tomorrow’s episode.

'I'm p*ssed off'

Although the 'Jeopardy!' episode was a full blowout, fans are fuming with the comeback of Ben Chan and pitting him with Hannah Wilson. Hannah won consecutively for eight days, whereas Ben came back after discontinuing his streak back in April. Many fans took to social media to express their frustration, as one tweeted, "They did Hannah dirty on #jeopardy. She looks so pissed", while another user wrote, "Bringing in champion Ben to compete with Hannah tonight was wrong. She did not deserve this. As a 35 year Jeopardy watcher, I am pissed off." One more fan said, "They should’ve waited until Hannah’s run was over until they brought Ben back. Not fair."
