Whoopi Goldberg cuts off ‘The View’ co-hosts as they discuss 'curvy' mermaid statue
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: If you like watching ‘The View’ while sipping your morning coffee, then you probably raised an eyebrow and did a little double take when your favorite hosts were discussing a curvy mermaid. Well, yes, you heard it right! A statue of a mermaid that was curvier than some people would like went viral and Whoopi Goldberg had some thoughts on it!
Whoopi has been consistent with her work on ‘The View’ and otherwise despite recent controversies that follow her co-hosts like Sunny Hostin. Albeit is it time for Whoopi to be under the scrutinizing spotlight now? That might just be the case and no thanks to a curvy mermaid!

Did Whoopi Goldberg really cut off her co-hosts?
‘The View’ has become a breeding ground for controversies and it’s all thanks to the hosts, who keep one-upping each other over and over again. As if Hostin’s behavior under a magnifying glass wasn’t enough, Goldberg had to go ahead and steal that spotlight, and definitely not in a good way.
Goldberg is a strong, opinionated woman, and we have known this for a long time now, but things are different when you are hosting your own talk show versus sharing a screen with several other co-hosts. One would believe that Whoopi knew better but clearly not.
The topic of discussion was a curvy mermaid statue that was being criticized for being overly sexual, and of course, all hosts had a thing or two to say about it. Whoopi got her fair share of time on camera before it panned over to all the hosts as they started discussing the mermaid, its curvy figure, and a big backside. Who said morning journalism was dead? Sarah Haines, Ana Navarro, and others begin talking over each other in a rather playful discussion when Whoopi looks over to the crowd with a look that clearly said, "I’m over it."
It isn’t long after that look Whoopi goes on to change the subject, completely dismissing her co-hosts and the topic on hand. Out of a lot of coverage on ‘The View’, the mermaid story definitely stood out, and was actually fun and interesting.
Goldberg's opinion
On the issue, Goldberg said, “Yeah…she got a booty…okay,” after which, she dived into it a little more, but the second her co-hosts started talking about it, she had enough.
Whoopi is a household name and significantly more popular than her co-hosts, but does that really allow her to talk over them and simply change the subject? Honestly, we don’t expect Whoopi to talk about this incident any further, but if she did, an apology wouldn’t be the worst thing ever because fans of ‘The View’ don’t need more reasons to stop watching this talk show!
