'Monster' has been written by Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber along with Daniel Caesar and Mustafa the Poet, and the song's producer Frank Dukes. It is the second single from Shawn's upcoming fourth studio album 'Wonder' (2020). 'Monster' follows the lead single 'Wonder' which was released on October 2, 2020. It is the first collaboration between Shawn and Justin.
Shawn's album is set to be released through Island Records on December 4, 2020. It'll be his fourth album and the follow-up to 2018's 'Shawn Mendes'. Justin last released 'Changes' in February 2020 and later in the year dropped the singles 'Holy' (featuring Chance the Rapper) and 'Lonely' with Benny Blanco. His last feature was a collaboration with 24kGoldn, J Balvin, and Iann Dior for 'Mood (Remix)'. Justin is expected to release his sixth studio album soon.
